In a previous post, 6 Steps to Creating an AI Marketing Strategy, we talked about some of the practical things you need to think about as you research AI solutions for your marketing strategy. In this post, we outline some additional ways that AI can improve and refine that strategy.
Helps you understand your buyer
AI can help you collect and analyze your customer’s online behavior, enabling you to create a better picture of who that customer is, their likes and dislikes and so forth. The better you know your customer, the better you can market to them and the better you can acquire new customers. It goes without saying that this has direct implications on your marketing strategy.
Enhances customer relationships
Some studies say that by the end of 2020 85% of a customer’s relationship with a company will be non-human. That’s a big deal. How will your strategy reflect this? While we don’t advocate abandoning humans and letting bots run your company, it’s important to think through because more and more people will expect and even prefer this kind of relationship.
Provides new opportunities for digital advertising
Digital advertising platforms are now mostly run by AI and most of them offer ad types that directly take advantage of algorithms that work to show the right ad to the right person at the right time. These ads are not always the default type, so you’ll need to be sure to select them and then see how they perform compared to more traditional digital ads.
Gives you cutting-edge marketing tools
While AI runs most of the major tech platforms, use of individual AI tools is still not widespread. Adopting some of these technologies and learning how they optimize email, SEO, content and other marketing tactics gives you a leg up on the competition. Leveraging the power of AI tools to parse data and find patterns and new solutions is an important part of using these tools.
